As National Nurses’ Week shines a spotlight on the vital contribution of nurses across healthcare, DermaFocus is proud to recognise the role nurses play in shaping modern aesthetic practice.
Marked annually in the week leading up to Florence Nightingale’s birthday on May 12th, National Nurses’ Week is a time to acknowledge the skill, dedication and impact of nurses across all areas of healthcare. It recognises their clinical expertise, alongside their role as patient advocates, educators and leaders – often at the forefront of delivering safe, compassionate and effective care.
In medical aesthetics, nurses are central to delivering patient-focused outcomes, combining clinical knowledge with communication, trust and long-term treatment planning. From consultation through to results, their influence extends far beyond treatment delivery, helping to define standards and elevate patient experience across the specialty.
These values are reflected within the DermaFocus Faculty, where experienced nurse practitioners contribute to education, clinical leadership, and the advancement of best practice. Their perspectives highlight what truly matters at the heart of aesthetic medicine.
Amanda Demosthenous emphasises the importance of confidence and self-perception in patient outcomes. She says, “What matters the most to me in my practice is making sure that patients feel like the best version themselves. I’m very grateful that we’re in the field of aesthetics where we can help people achieve this.”
For Caroline Hall, safety remains the foundation of every clinical decision. “The reason I choose the products and treatments I do is because they’ve got a really robust safety record. They’re clinically tested, and they give amazing results to my patients. So patient safety and patient satisfaction are key to me,” she explains.
Emma Ross highlights the importance of trust and outcomes working hand in hand. She notes, “What matters the most to me is the trusting relationship I have with my patients and, of course, delivery safe and beautiful results for them.”
For Frances Turner Traill, trust sits at the core of patient care. “Trust really is at the heartbeat of absolutely everything that we do. We want patients to feel listened to, valued, heard, and understood,” she emphasises.
And for Kerry Hanaphy, patient satisfaction is a priority. ‘We believe it’s important to have patient satisfaction with the results’
These perspectives reflect the principles that underpin high-quality aesthetic care – patient-centred practice, clinical integrity, and meaningful, lasting results.
This National Nurses Week, DermaFocus celebrates nurses across the industry, and is proud to work alongside those within its Faculty who continue to raise standards and shape the future of regenerative aesthetics.
