Dr Bonny Armstrong Highlights Regenerative Hair Approaches in Aesthetics

Belfast-based aesthetic practitioner Dr Bonny Armstrong has been featured in the May Special Feature of the Aesthetics journal, contributing her expert insight into the growing role of non-surgical regenerative interventions in hair restoration.

The feature, titled Stimulating Hair Restoration with Non-Surgical Interventions, explores how practitioners are increasingly combining regenerative technologies and biologically focused treatments to support scalp health and hair quality without surgical intervention.

Within the article, Dr Armstrong discusses her experience using regenerative approaches including Purasomes, Plinest® Hair and the DermaFocus Microneedling Pen as part of combination treatment protocols. She also shares examples of successful patient outcomes and clinical case study photography, alongside insight into effective treatment protocols.

The discussion highlights the importance of careful patient assessment and identifying potential contributing factors before treatment begins. Dr Armstrong comments on the suitability of regenerative hair restoration approaches for patients experiencing postpartum, stress-related or weight loss-associated hair shedding, explaining the importance of understanding the underlying cause and stage of hair loss when planning treatment.

She also discusses the role of regenerative therapies in supporting and maintaining surgical hair restoration outcomes, particularly as part of longer-term scalp health and follicular support strategies.

Dr Armstrong’s inclusion within the Special Feature also highlights the continued integration of regenerative medicine concepts into mainstream aesthetic practice, with growing focus on tissue health, biological support and long-term optimisation across both skin and hair treatments.
